NEW: All indoor youth and adult sports are being placed on a full pause – effective 6:00 AM on December 5th through January 2nd, 2021.
We’re seeing outbreaks related to indoor sports, and this will help slow the spread.
Only exceptions: collegiate-level and professional teams.

This is the tipping point.
CA has worked hard to prepare for a surge—but we can’t sustain the record high cases we’re seeing.
Current projections show CA will run out of current ICU beds before Christmas Eve.

Here's a look at our #COVID19 indicators. We had a slight drop in testing due to the holiday weekend, so we should have a clearer picture of where things are later this week.
• 96 patients admitted to the hospital
• 1,620 new cases
• The infection rate 7-day average is 4.03%— Mayor Bill de Blasio (@NYCMayor) November 30, 2020
The test positivity rate in the focus areas under NY's Micro-Cluster strategy is 6.22%.
The statewide positivity rate excluding these focus areas is 4.02%.
We continue to take strong action to respond to outbreaks and to stop the spread.

As we see the data catch up, we are expecting to see much higher numbers over the next week. This is especially true for deaths, where it seems likely we'll see more daily deaths reported than at any time during the pandemic.

Zooming out to the monthly view, November was a very bad month, even with the data wobbles at the end. All things considered, it was probably the worst month of the pandemic outside of April. Next month could be worse. pic.twitter.com/kargiEiLat
