Tuesday (September 8th)

NFIB for August- Bloomberg consensus: 99.0(e) v 98.8 prior
The CBIZ Small Business Employment Index (SBEI), which tracks hiring trends among thousands of companies with 300 or fewer employees across the U.S., reported a seasonally adjusted decrease of 0.48% in August. It dropped from +1.25% in July and was the first decline since May.

Opportunity Insights shows the percent change (from January 2020) in the number of small businesses open fell from -7.7% on July 4 to -19.1% on August 9.

 

Thursday (September 10th)

PPI for August – Bloomberg consensus: 0.2%(e) v 0.6%
In the latest ISM Manufacturing survey, 17 out of 18 industries reported paying increased prices for raw materials.

 

Friday (September 11th)

CPI for August – Bloomberg consensus: 0.3%(e) v 0.6%
Several proxies showed that retail gasoline prices were broadly stable in August. Using seasonal adjustment, it would translate into a bounce of less than 2%.
